We were snowed in again yesterday. At this point, it really doesn’t matter. I think I ‘ve gotten used to it. I spread my projects out on the dining room table and spent the day meandering through them all. It’s too early to plant up the seeds but a few pots here and there give me something to look forward to. It’s exciting to see the little sprouts coming through and to check them each morning. March 1 st came in like a lion so you know what that means!
Perhaps you can have too much of a good thing

Out like a lamb, we hope. In Maine, for the past two days, it really does feel as though we turned some kind of corner with winter. Whatever March might bring—sometimes we can get a doozy of a storm—we are on the backside of winter. A good place to be.

It is! This winter here has been what I ‘ve imagined Maine to be like.

To us Southerners, your snow sounds like Heaven. I realize you have had too much, and the melting will be something, (!!!!) but to us down here in Georgia, it seems like getting snow would be a break in our routine. And I love the way snow casts such lovely light into the house. Sorry. I know you are tired of it.

Funny thing, I should be tired of it and I was tired of it a few weeks ago but I’m okay with it now. Kind of liking it really.

I feel for you!! Here in Kansas, we had our first appreciable snow yesterday. We finally feel like we’ve joined with the rest of the country. Spring will come…

I read on the blogs that in Europe the first day of Spring is March 1st and Mothers’ Day is in March there. Who knew?!

Oh, dear, I’m having a hard time getting my eyes to stop focusing on the walls of snow along the sidewalk. I keep feeling sorry for the one that had to shovel! I feel for you. But thank you for reinforcing my feelings of happiness here in the deep south! 😀

I was raking the roof today, Linda! And scooping snow from my bathroom window and filling the tub with it. Too funny! Glad you are sunny and warm down there and supplying us all with your gorgeous pictures:)

Cynthia,
If you don’t have to make up the work (but I know you will) this could be a two week vacation in your sunny kitchen. We’ve had below zero weather here for a couple of weeks. A friend of was killed in a car accident Thursday morning when his car slid on a patch of black ice and he hit another vehicle. He was driving his mother’s little car; he had loaned his heavy truck to a friend for the day. The man in the other vehicle sustained a broken ankle, but my friend died. I love sunny kitchen winters, but I don’t like ice.

I will make up the work, lol. My cousin and I recently shared a joke about our family’s ‘laziness phobia’.
Very sad news about your friend. Shocking when things like that happen. I’m so sorry!!
Wednesday night the same thing happened on one of our side roads. A former neighbor of ours, 26 years old , lost his life in the same way.

What is that blue item with the beautiful patches? Is it a bag? It’s very pretty.

Thanks, yes! The bag was a simple sewing project and I’m embellishing it with bits of sparkle and colors .. Fabric scraps, broken bracelet beads, lol. Like a magpie sort of.. I can’t resist shiny or colorful things:)

You’ve had a lot of snow by the looks of things. We had a flurry this morning but now it’s just very windy and I wish it would stop.
Anyway, your fabrics look very pretty 🙂

Thanks Helen. I see you are back in your garden again. I am really interested to see how you implement the permaculture principals this year. I am drawn to it for lots of the same reasons you are.

All I’m asking is where is the lamb? We got 4 inches of snow on the first day of Spring! No mind, I have kale, tomatoes and peppers all growing away in my basement and I planted sunflower seeds and gazanias and they are up and growing too. When I need a “dirt” fix, I head for the grow station.
Hope you guys don’t get any more snow!

My seeds are in my basement too. I planted a lot of them on the first day of Spring, watching the snow out the kitchen window. We got about 3 or 4 inches as well, Ugh We still have time for the lamb to show up!
