Christmas in New York
There’s nothing like Christmas in New York City. My cousin came up from Florida for a visit and we took a train into Manhattan. We did as many of the “Christmas tourist” things that we could fit in and had so much fun!!! The windows at Sax 5th Avenue were so gorgeous! We went to Radio City Music Hall to see the Rockettes and the angels, the tree and the skaters at Rockefeller Center. On our way to see Macy’s windows, we stopped at the Christmas festival in Bryant Park. Times Square was crazy, as usual. Carnegie’s is always fun and I still think their cheesecake is the best ever.
I’ve only been there during the holiday season once…and wow – it thrilled me! Can’t wait to do it again one day… that and the European Christmas markets.

I remember the department store windows in Chicago, so fabulous! And just as memorable were the scenes on the street, the chestnut roasting vendor, a beautiful young woman with her arms filled with red roses, the breath of the horses pulling carriages, all so lovely.

Chicago is my Father’s favorite American city. Reading your description, I can understand why. The farthest west I’ve been is Philadelphia.

Thanks, Johanna! I did have a great time with my cousin. The older I get, the more I seem to have in common with my relatives, lol. It’s a wonderful thing

It’s a lot different from any city I’ve been to. When I had my store, a lot of people visited from Europe. Many of them skipped the ‘New York experience’ and opted for Boston.
